The significance of cephalopod beaks as a research tool: an update

We just published a review paper on the state of the art of using beaks to study squid and octopus for Biology and ecology of cephalopods.

One of our researchers José Nuno Gomes-Pereira is one of the few that still use these techniques that range from classic taxonomy to modern techniques and plenty of hard work.


Led by José Xavier from Universidade de Coimbra, it gathers the top cephalopod researchers and the results from CIAC 2022 in Portugal.
